Kindness Week

In observation of National Random Acts of Kindness Day, Riverside Academy will be participating in the first annual “Kindness Week” from February 13th-February 16th.  Throughout the week, scholars and staff will be showing kindness in a variety of ways to community partners, classmates, teachers, and first responders.  We will also celebrate with a theme each day for being out of uniform (see attached flyer for each day’s theme).

Family Conferences

It is crucial that all families sign up for conferences for February 12th.  Those sign-ups went out with scholars last week. If you are unable to attend virtually, on the phone, or in-person that day, teachers can meet with families during other times and days that week.  When families and teachers work together as a team, children perform better academically!!

Early Kindergarten Program

We are excited to announce that Riverside Academy will be implementing an Early Kindergarten Program starting in Fall 2023! The Early K program is a dedicated class that focuses on preparing your child for academic success.

Developed with the ACCEL Schools Academic Team, our Early Kindergarten Program focuses on each child’s physical, social, and cognitive development. Our teaching approach uses meaningful playtime and learning materials that are centered around young children’s natural curiosity and desire to learn.

·        Free, full-day program for children ages 4-5

·        Full year (August – May) program

·        Applicants must turn five years old by January 1st

·        A brief Kindergarten assessment is required during the registration process

Our Early Kindergarten Program teacher will be in regular communication with you throughout the year to discuss your child’s progress toward his or her individual learning goals.

“Starting school is the beginning of a special journey for each child,” says Principal Donley. “Our Early Kindergarten Program gives Riverside Academy students a strong start and foundation for lifelong learning.”
